Manchester United agrees deal for World Cup winner, Ole Gunnar confirms
Manchester United is set to have a big summer in the coming transfer window as the Red Devils are keen on strengthen up the club ahead of next season.
Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer should be given a huge budget as he will be keen on transforming his team into a proper title contender next season, but with their lack of Champions League football next season could see them lose several players this summer.
Juan Mata, whose contract is set to expire at the end of the season, could be just on his way out of the club having been in and out of the team starting lineup throughout the season but Solskjaer is quite confident the 31-year-old attacker will remain will the club.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Solskjaer said: “He’s a fantastic person and a fantastic player. It’s up to him. I’ve had words with him and he knows how highly I regard him. He’s a top pro and let’s see if they manage to agree.”
With Solskjaer being confident about the 2010 World Cup winner to remain at the Old Trafford means that the midfielder will be a key player for the team come next season.
The Red Devils will now be likely to offer Mata a two-year contract extension with Head coach Solskjaerr keen on him.
