DONE DEAL : Chelsea agree stunning €60 million fee for Real Madrid target as he is set to leave stamford bridge - Not Hazard
Chelsea have reportedly slapped a hefty price tag on Marcos Alonso after numerous rumours connecting him to Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid.
The price for the player has been reportedly agreed to by Real Madrid and this will see the player depart for Spain before the window closes next week.
The Spaniard enjoyed a good season last year even though he wasn’t picked to represent his country at the World Cup. He has also continued from where he left off last season by inspiring his team to a win against Arsenal last week.
Maurizio Sarri was not interested in letting go the player who he thinks has a very important role to play in the project he is building for success at Chelsea but with the mounting pressure and the rumoured wish of the Spaniard to go back home has seen the club place a valuation of over half a million on the player.
Real Madrid’s new manager has identified the former Madrid player, Marcos Alonso as a player that can fill the boots of club legend Marcelo when he is fatigued or not in form. A paltry valuation of €30m was made last week by the club for the player.
Also, interestingly, Madrid rival Atletico Madrid have been mentioned to be monitoring the player’s situation at Stamford Bridge. They see him as an improved replacement for Filipe Luis who is billed to depart for PSG. A sum of around €30m was also mooted for the player.
Recent news however, have emerged claiming that the Spaniard has been sold for £54m to Real Madrid. If it is true that Madrid have secured his services, it will be a big blow to Chelsea as they will have to wait until January to get a proper replacement.
