Disappointed Ruben Loftus-Cheek Finally In His Senses As He Reveals What Chelsea Needs To Do After Loss To Liverpool
Ruben Loftus-Cheek acknowledged the quality of Liverpool’s attacking play in his analysis of our defeat at Anfield, but also pointed out there were reasons to be positive from a Chelsea perspective.
‘We can go away not too disappointed,’ Loftus-Cheek assessed.
‘We had some good spells in the game and played some good football at times. They scored two very good goals and we didn’t take our chances. That’s the way football ends up at times.
‘We knew they were going to come out fast. It was a really difficult game to play in defensively with their creative players.
The
23-year-old stressed the requirement to now focus on the busy last few
weeks of the season, starting with home games against Slavia Prague and
Burnley. He believes the race for the top four is far from over with
further twists and turns to be expected.
‘When you lose you have to move on quickly because there are games coming thick and fast. That’s a trait as a footballer you have to be good at. You have to put stuff behind you and move on, and that’s what we have to do after this performance.
‘It’s not a good result for us but all we can do is put it behind us and learn from it. We keep going and going, and try and get points on the board. We can’t give up hope.’
