It is understandable that everyone wants the best for their single friends but at times the wish for your single friends to find happiness with a special man, get married and have children of their own can take a wrong turn as you have to allow them to make their own decision without pressure and stop throwing their being single in their faces by telling them things that won’t go down well with them and cause issues between you if the pressure persists.
Here are 6 things singles ladies don’t want to hear from their friends or family.
Are you still single?: “The offensive word here is “still,” as if singlehood is a condition your friends are stuck with and can’t quite shake, how would you like it if they asked you: “Hey, are you still married? or “Are you still in that relationship? instead, you might try the less judgmental and perfectly benign”.
Are you Happy?: “Thanks for your concern but the really scary thing would be walking around in a perpetual funk because a lady does have a man, true happiness or contentment does not come from having a man you can only have that on your own”.
You just have to put yourself out there: “This is another well-meaning comment that is frustrating as hell when it pops up, unsolicited if your friend hasn’t asked you how she can meet a guy stop the unsolicited advice”.
Maybe you’re just too selective, strict etc: “While we could all stand to learn and grow, this type of comment makes it seem like the person is fundamentally unattractive to the opposite $ex, regardless of whether the statement is true or not, is of no consequence and unless you’re having an in depth conversation about someone’s flaws and how he or she can improve themselves, and not just to get a man, this is probably going to hurt feelings”.
I know somebody: “Eeek, the funny thing is, it never occurs to people that someone, especially a woman, would consciously choose to be single and when the self-ordained matchmakers, feel it is their appointed duty to set up potential love connections without due asking properly it can always be very annoying”.
You’re not getting any younger: “Thank you for reminding them but there is no need to state the obvious, love or even worse try to scare them into procreating with the first man with a moderate to high-level sperm count, things happen when they’re supposed to happen”.
