Chelsea vs Tottenham: Harry Kane sets unwanted record
Tottenham Hotspur striker, Harry Kane, set an unwanted record during their 2-1 loss to Chelsea on Sunday at Wembley Stadium.
The England international took eight shots during the match, which was a career-high mark for the striker without scoring a goal.
Kane came close, striking the post in the first half. He also had a penalty shot denied, as Marcos Alonso’s brace gave the Blues the victory in the London derby.
In total, he has now had 34 shots and played 12 games in the month of August, without scoring in the Premier League.
It also means Kane is still stuck on 99 goals in his Spurs career, a mark he reached last May, when he scored seven goals in the final two contests of the Premier League campaign.
The 24-year-old gets one more chance this year to break his August duck, when Tottenham host Burnley next Sunday.
